The Crown - Single
When I wrote The Crown, I was studying composition with Dafnis Prieto. It actually originated as an assignment that he gave. The assignment was to compose a consistent bass line with a melody that floated on top of it. The rhythmic conception of this composition is very much influenced by Dafnis and other Cuban artists. For the harmonic and melodic content, I pulled from across my array of influences, ranging from straight ahead jazz artists like Lee Morgan and Wayne Shorter, to folkloric Cuban music, to the music of urban Greece, where my family is from.
The title, The Crown, is also multi-layered and connected to my Greek heritage.
Opening Statement
In March 2022, he recorded his debut album, Opening Statement, made up entirely of original music. It was produced by Brian Lynch and will be released on his label Hollistic MusicWorks on August 22, 2025.
